The Beatles Collection by Mike Herbert Review
This is another well taught song collection from Mike Herbert who brought us 20 Easy Strumming Videos and is designed for acoustic guitar and Beatles fans who want to learn a quick repertoire of famous Beatles acoustic classics.
I think Mike's on to something here as these Beatles songs are always instant crowd pleasers and having a solid repetoire of Beatles material will always get you a lot of attention. He's chosen some absolute crackers including Yesterday, Blackbird, Here comes the sun, And I love her and Norwegian Wood. Furthermore he also gives you a free bonus video entitled "The Secret to Strumming Guitar".
Mike's treaching style is friendly and down to earth and his years of experience in teaching the guitar shine through. However what I really liked about this course is the unique "Over the shoulder" point of view that is on each video. I'm speaking from personal experience when I tell you that this is invaluable as it makes it so much easier to view the chords and picking techniques.

The videos are of course the main teaching tool however they are supported by tab sheets for each song, chord and lyrics sheets and play along tracks. It's also worth mentioning that each track comes with the tablature in TefView (a leading tabbing software package and includes the free tab player) so that you can listen to, watch, slow down speed up, change the sound of and generally mess around with the whole piece. You basically have all the support materials you could ever need in learning these tracks.
The only downside to this course is the fact that there are only 5 songs which may put some people off but to be honest the price is good and its certainly not to designed to be a complete acoustic guitar course. For that reason we have scored it 7/10. If you after something more substantial we'd recommend Jamorama Acoustic.
