Guitarport Review
Some things just radically change the way you think about learning guitar and Guitarport by line 6 is probably the most important development in the last decade or so.
Basically the guitarport is an amazing piece of hardware that plugs directly into your computer via a USB cable and like many of Line 6's digital modelling amplifiers, lets you recreate the guitar tone of loads of famous amps. This is all done via an easy to use virtual interface and you get to choose 16 classic guitar amplifier models and 19 stompbox and studio effects that work, sound & feel like the originals. Also included are a chromatic tuner, metronome and MP3, WAV and Audio CD playback.
So this is all sounding pretty impressive so far right? Well this really is just the tip of the iceberg. Owning a Guitarport comes into its own when you subscribe to the online service called "GuitarPort® Online", This gives you unlimited access to hundreds of tracks and lessons from famous guitarists of all genres and styles.
Now what really sets this apart from other jam track collections is the authenticity of the recordings. Not only do you get all the tablature for each track and the original tones so your guitar blends in seamlessly with the recording but the actual tracks are from the original tapes or faithfully recreated by the original musicians involved. I don't know about you but that just blow us away!
" Its a dream collection of the most classic guitar songs of all time ranging from the Stones and AC/DC, to Albert King, and Metallica. The library also features cover versions of newer acts like Blink 182, Deftones, Rage Against The Machine, and more..."

Now we would like a add a note of caution here to those of you with an old computer or who haven't used a computer much in the past. You will need a fast PC and you'll also need to now your way around basic PC tasks such as how to install/unistall programs and how to update drivers. That said once you have it up and running you'll have a little slice of guitar heaven.
Finally, If you’re starting to get comfortable with rhythm playing and have started to solo with simple pentatonic scales then you will probably get the best out of this piece of kit. If you’re still a complete beginner then we recommend you check out a course like jamorama or Express Guitar first and move on to Guitarport at a later date. Once you do you'll never look back. Trust us!
